Purpose of Position:    To provide the underwriting and administrative support needed to ensure the company maintains a profitable and sustainable book of business in accordance with company underwriting and compliance guidelines.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

Essential functions and responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze new and renewal PB&P business applications in accordance with Company underwriting philosophies and guidelines for aircraft hull, aircraft liability under the direction & supervision of the Underwriters
  • Handle Broker enquiries in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with Company business standards
  • Develop awareness of industry trends through development of good working relationship with Brokers and other sources of industry news and developments
  • Provide assistance as required to the Senior Underwriters on General Liability, Non-Owned & small commercial business
  • Maintain monthly statistical information on new, renewed and lapsed business
  • Assist in the processing of new and renewal policies as required
  • Calculations of premiums and checking of documentation to be performed in a precise manner with clear instruction given to support staff
  • Attending Industry conferences when required
  • Attend client visits in specified region in conjunction with management goals when required
  • Maintain & continually further knowledge of technical developments/changes in the aviation community and aviation insurance industry
  • Keep abreast of new technologies, procedures and guidelines within the company. Be very proficient in all Global software applications (Nexus, Basil, Fleetsheet, etc.) and any other software currently being utilized by Global


  • Bind and quote risks on behalf of the Company further to individual authority level set at time of hiring with subsequent periodic review



  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related major or relevant industry experience preferred


  • Prior experience or interest in aviation industry preferred
  • Private Pilot’s License (PPL) is an asset
  • Good verbal, written, math and analytical skills
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
  • Well-developed analytical and problem resolution skills to be utilized in a productive manner
  • Ability to be decisive and show consistently good judgement
  • Well-developed organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Team player
  • CIP designation/progression towards CIP designation
