Job Title: Aeroinsure Associate Underwriter

Location: Overland Park, Kansas (Preferably) or other Global US Offices

Employment Type: Full-Time (Hybrid)

This role provides broad support to members of the General Aviation Underwriting Department with particular focus on Aeroinsure Light Aircraft Division and is responsible for research and development of pertinent underwriting information, day to day servicing, and completion of documents necessary for issuance of new and existing policyholders. Further responsibilities are listed below.

• In-Person introductions to aviation agents/brokers to foster good rapport and develop Global’s business plan and mission statement
• Provide initial book of business and review strategies with Underwriting Management
• Work with account representatives as assigned for issuance of policy documents by assembling and organizing complete underwriting, and rating information in a form and manner which will assure an error-free, understandable, and professional product in accordance with company standards
• Communicate with broker/agents as needed via telephone and email.
• Liaise with underwriting and claims teams as needed
• Create an underwriting analyst pack for seaplanes and airport portfolio which consists of:
• Research Internet on each risk. Outline outcome.
• Review previous OnBase records (where applicable) for any pertinent information to be shared with the underwriting team
• Loading underwriting models including endorsements and coverages where applicable in an effort to prepare the model for the underwriter’s quote.
• Compare exposures and highlight differences to the underwriting team.
• Copy over any relevant underwriting information from previous year’s OnBase records (application, pilot reports)
• Review of referral list on a daily basis per underwriting guidelines
• Assist where needed on credit control items
• Provide support on Ad-hoc projects and regular underwriting meetings
• Regular communication and coordination with Underwriting Management
• Maintain knowledge of technical developments/changes in the aviation field and aviation insurance industry
• Maintain up-to-date rating manuals, underwriting guidelines, procedures manual and files as necessary to keep abreast of Company policies, goals, and objectives
• Monitor changes in any particular risk, agency, or area which might affect the production of aviation business in the assigned territory
• Domestic travel (up to 20%) and if applicable, occasional trips to the Kansas office

Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Skills/Experience:
Required:
• Aviation or prior insurance experience
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills and experience working as part of a team
• Ability to work independently and carry our projects, tasks and assignments to completion as assigned.

Preferred:
• Pilot Certificate/License or Aviation interest
• Preferred one to three years of underwriting, actuarial, agency/brokerage, or risk management experience
