Automation Test Analyst – Morris Plains, NJ

This position is responsible to plan and execute both manual and automated tests for various IT Applications, providing various reports to the Test Team Lead and IT Services Manager.  Further duties and responsibilities are listed below:

  • Analyze, define, and agree on the implementation of automated test processes within individual project teams
  • Work as part of a test team to deliver new releases, discuss and prioritize defects and ensure problem resolution/escalation
  • Identify the test automation requirements for new and existing projects
  • Maintenance of regression test packs and end-to-end testing framework including the associated test cases
  • Communicate Test results to the appropriate teams
  • Must be able to write test cases and run them
  • Documentation of all user requirements
  • Implementation and execution of automated testing program/solutions
  • Assist Developer and Users throughout the development process (i.e., work with users to solve front line supporting issues)
  • Test Planning and execution for both Desktop and Internet applications

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field, or 7+ years experience

Skills/Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum of 2 + years in preparing Test Plans, Cases, Scenario Reports
  • Must have experience with setting up automated tests for both Desktop and Web Applications developed in ASP.Net/C# or Java
  • Must have experience with a modern object-oriented programming language
  • Experience writing unit tests in a modern object-oriented programming language
  • Must have experience working through business requirements to create test plans as well as find gaps in requirements.
  • Must be able to clearly document completed Test results
  • Contribute to continual improvement of the testing process
  • Ability to write SQL Queries and understand database structures
  • Must have experience in MS Visual Studio Team suite
  • Excellent written/verbal, communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision, as well as within a team
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • <5% domestic and international travel required

Preferred:

  • Experience with TestComplete software
  • Experience with Cypress.io Framework for testing web applications
  • Experience with TypeScript and JavaScript
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Possession of an industry-recognized testing qualification – ISEB foundation certificate
