Job Title: Assistant General Counsel—Insurance Regulatory and Policy Wordings

Employment Type: Full-Time (Hybrid)

Under the direction of the US General Counsel and Senior Counsel, US Wording Group, this position is responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining procedures for and ensuring compliance with US states’ and territories’ rate, form and other requirements that impact the business of Global Aerospace, Inc.
  • Developing and drafting insurance policy and endorsement documents,
  • Assisting with preparing and submitting such documents for regulatory filing and internal publication and
  • Responding to requests for review and guidance from various business units regarding policies and endorsements in accordance with established procedures.

Additional duties and responsibilities include:

  • Remaining informed of all legal and insurance industry developments, as well as applicable department practices and procedures
  • Developing and drafting guidance documents for insurance policies and endorsements
  • Working with Underwriting on product development
  • Assisting with Compliance Reviews of the Company’s marketing and promotional materials.
  • Carrying out additional tasks assigned by US General Counsel with consultation from Executive Managers in the Underwriting Group in coordination with the Senior Counsel, US Wordings Group
  • Discharging the duties assigned within the limits of the policies, programs and procedures established by the US General Counsel, Senior Counsel US Wordings Group and Company practices and procedures

Qualifications

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate required

Skills/Experience:

Required:

  • Five years Property and Casualty insurance Regulatory Compliance experience with a demonstrated knowledge of the insurance industry. In-house Underwriting, Claims or other Legal experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Very high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a group
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines
  • Occasional domestic and international travel required – less than 10%

Preferred:

  • Aviation or aerospace industry knowledge and experience
