Job Title: Underwriting Analyst

This position is responsible to provide operational, analytical, and service support to the General Aviation Underwriting Department, with a particular focus on the digital business in addition to processing new and renewal submissions, preparing underwriting information and reports, researching risks, supporting policy administration activities, and ensuring timely service to brokers, customers, and underwriting staff.  Further duties and responsibilities are listed below:

Essential functions and responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

  • Work as part of the Digital underwriting team, supporting underwriting operations and service objectives.
  • Review submissions and gather information necessary for underwriting analysis and policy processing.
  • Prepare, issue, and process quotes, binders, policies, certificates, endorsements, and renewals in accordance with established workflows and underwriting guidelines.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of policy documentation and underwriting records.
  • Communicate with brokers, agents, insureds, and internal stakeholders via email and telephone to provide responsive service and resolve inquiries.
  • Monitor team workflows and shared mailboxes to support service level expectations and timely processing of requests.
  • Coordinate with underwriting, claims, accounting, and other internal departments as needed.
  • Assist with premium collection and other credit control activities.
  • Support reporting, testing, process improvement initiatives, and ad hoc projects.
  • Prepare underwriting analyst packages where needed and supporting documentation for underwriter review.
    • Research risks using internal and external resources and summarize findings for the underwriting team.
    • Review historical account information and identify relevant changes, exposures, or trends.
    • Compare renewal and new business exposures and highlight key differences for underwriting consideration.
    • Load and maintain underwriting models, coverages, endorsements, and system data used in the underwriting process.
  • Maintain knowledge of aviation industry developments and emerging risks impacting the portfolio.
  • Travel domestically as required (up to 20%)

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Skills/Experience:

Required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted underwriting practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • Pilot Certificate/License or Aviation interest
  • Producer License
  • Preferred one to three years of underwriting, actuarial, agency/brokerage, or risk management experience
  • Previous experience working as part of a team
  • Strong Mathematical skills

Pay Range
Anticipated Pay Range For This Role Is:
$50,000 – $60,000

This pay range represents the base annual full-time salary for this position. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate including but not limited to relevant experience, education, geography and skill set. All full time positions are eligible to participate in Global’s profit-sharing plan program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
