Global Gives Back: Supporting Exceptional Organizations for the Greater Good

Global Aerospace Editorial Team, February 4, 2020
Giving Back

It’s been said that, “Charity begins at home.” At Global Aerospace, we extend the meaning of “home” to encompass the communities where we operate. In our “homes” around the world, we support the work of many outstanding organizations that are creating positive change for people from all walks of life. Not only do we assist these programs financially, we get involved on a personal level. The charitable entities we support are ones about which we are genuinely passionate.

Proud to Partner with Outstanding Organizations

In the past year, we were honored to provide assistance to a wide variety of organizations and initiatives, including:

Swanlea School Business Mentoring
The Global Aerospace London Office welcomed a group of year 12 students (ages 16-17) from Swanlea School. CEO Nick Brown introduced Global Aerospace with a talk about our history and our work. Then, speakers from different departments explained their area to demonstrate that there are a variety of career paths in our industry and to encourage students to explore their options. The event wrapped up with a lunch that gave students the opportunity to talk directly with presenters.

Verizon Corporate Classic 5K
The Verizon Corporate Classic is one of New Jersey’s premier corporate fitness events. Global Aerospace has participated in this annual event for the last several years. Funds raised benefit Jersey Battered Women’s Service, Inc. JBWS provides life-saving services to victims of domestic violence and their families. Their mission is to prevent domestic violence through the protection and empowerment of the victim, to rehabilitate family members and to educate the public about domestic violence and its consequences.

Holiday Gift Collection for Morristown Neighborhood House/Cornerstone Family Programs
The Morristown Neighborhood House provides a safe environment that nurtures educational and social development. Programs cater to children of all ages, from the youngest who receive full-day, year-round care, to high school students whose pathways to brighter futures prepare them for college, the workforce and beyond.

Rêves de Gosse
Rêves de Gosse is a charity organization whose aim is to change how people see handicapped/sick children. Each year, one of their highlights is to offer a free flight for these handicapped or sick children. Our Global Aerospace Paris office has been a proud sponsor of this wonderful cause since 2015.

Victoria’s Secret Angels Cycle to End Cancer
Victoria’s Secret Angels partnered with Flywheel Sports in New York City to host this event. Global Aerospace participated, and all proceeds from the ride were donated to the nonprofit organization Pelotonia to support The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. Additionally, L Brands Foundation matched 100% of all donations.

Dreamflight
Dreamflight is a UK charity that takes children with a serious illness or disability on the trip of a lifetime to Orlando, Florida on a chartered Boeing 747 airliner. Assisted by a team of medical caregivers, the children enjoy an unforgettable 10-day adventure. Global Aerospace has been an active supporter of this program since 2012.

Young Eagles
Global Aerospace is proud to be a cornerstone donor to Young Eagles, a program of the Experimental Aircraft Association that introduces young people to aviation through free introductory flights with EAA-member pilots. In addition to our financial support, Global Aerospace pilots have volunteered personal time and company resources to fly well over 100 introductory flights.

Bob Hoover Academy
Founded by aviation legend Sean D. Tucker and his son Eric Tucker, and named for a man many believe to be one of the greatest pilots ever, The Bob Hoover Academy in Salinas, California uses aviation to get at-risk youth excited about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) education. Global Aerospace supports the program by underwriting its aviation insurance—coverage that is difficult for a program of this type to secure.

Giving Back and Getting Back
We do not, of course, expect anything in return for our support of these and other charitable initiatives. Yet we find that the more we give, the more we get back. The sense of shared purpose and the emotional rewards that our people experience from collaborating with these outstanding organizations and connecting with the people they serve is truly priceless.
